Kurzvita: Teréz Illés begann mit 9 Jahren Klavier zu spielen und war mit 11 Jahren bereits in ihrer Heimatstadt Bátaszék/Ungarn als vertretende Messenorganistin und Kantorin tätig. Nach dem Studium der Musikerziehung und Harmonielehre in Miskolc, setzte sie ihr Gesangstudium an der Univ. für Musik und darst. Kunst in Wien bei Prof Annamaria Rott, später bei Prof Ks Wicus Slabbert fort. Während der Studienzeit (2001) sang sie ihre erste Opernrolle als Hänsel und Sandmann in Humperdincks Kinderoper. Darauf folgten Mutter, Rowan (Britten), Contessa, Fiordiligi, Agathe, Tosca (Konzertant), Michaela. Als Stipendiantin an der Musikhochschule in Barcelona (2005/06) gab sie die Gouverness (Britten: The Turn of the Screw) und studierte Flamencogesang. Als Lied-und Konzertsängerin gastierte Teréz Illés in Spanien, Finnland, Italien und Ungarn. Im oratorischen Bereich war sie als Solistin in Messen von Haydn, Mozart, Eberlin im Stephansdom, von Kodály in der Augustinerkirche, in Mahlers II. Symphonie unter der Leitung von Maestro Upadhyaya zu hören. Ihr breites Repertoire beinhaltet sowohl Volkslieder als auch Urufführungen. Sie ist Referentin des Internationalen Chorworkshops in Schloss Weinberg und der Chorwerkstatt Cantemus in Mold, unterrichtet Gesang und ist ausgebildete Kokas-Musikpaedagogin. Ihre Dissertation über Bartók’s Volksliedbearbeitungen wurde 2013 im Akademikerverlag Saarbrücken publiziert.
About me: I was born and growing up in the rolling South-Hungary. As a child everything was interesting for me. I was putting on an act, dancing with my sister, reading, traveling to Europe with my parents and of course making music. With 9-years-old I have started to play on piano and at 11 I have already sung and played on organ in the church regularly. To my first casting I was taking along by my father. Till then I have thought that either has someone a voice and can sing, or not. But from this point it has excited me unbelievably what does it mean “to learn singing”. How can I, may I, should I deal with my voice? …and than to get to know the endless literature too. I have already thought, that one life could be to short for it.
